Jean-Laurent Bonnafé is a French banking executive who has served as the Chief Executive Officer of BNP Paribas since 2011. He joined BNP in 1993 and played a central role in formulating the bank's double bid for Société Générale and Paribas in 1999, subsequently overseeing the integration of Paribas, Banca Nazionale del Lavoro, and Fortis. In addition to leading one of Europe's largest banking groups, Bonnafé serves on the corporate boards of Carrefour and Hermès and chairs the Fédération Bancaire Française.
