Patrick Pouyanné is a French executive and engineer who has served as the CEO and Chairman of TotalEnergies since 2014 and 2015, respectively. He began his career in the French public sector in 1989, serving as a technical advisor to Prime Minister Édouard Balladur and chief of staff to minister François Fillon. Joining Elf in 1997, he transitioned to Total following its merger, progressing through senior leadership in exploration, refining, and chemicals before taking the helm of the supermajor.
