Hyun Song Shin is a South Korean economist serving as the 28th Governor of the Bank of Korea following his appointment in April 2026. He previously held the post of Economic Adviser and Head of Research at the Bank for International Settlements from 2014 to 2026, after serving as Hughes-Rogers Professor of Economics at Princeton University. Shin played a central role in formulating South Korea's macroprudential policy and shaping the G-20 Seoul summit agenda in 2010.
