Hemant Shah is an American entrepreneur and risk analytics pioneer who co-founded Risk Management Solutions (RMS) in 1989 while a graduate student at Stanford University. Under his leadership as CEO for nearly 30 years, RMS grew into the leading global catastrophe risk modeling firm for the insurance and reinsurance industries before being acquired by Moody's Corporation in 2021 for $2.0 billion. In 2018, Shah co-founded Archipelago, an AI-powered commercial property risk platform where he serves as Executive Chairman, and in 2025 he joined wildfire analytics company FortressFire as Vice Chairman.
