David Kenneth Roy Thomson, 3rd Baron Thomson of Fleet, is a Canadian and British media magnate and real estate investor who serves as the chairman of Thomson Reuters. He inherited control of the Thomson family empire in 2006 following the death of his father Kenneth Thomson, subsequently leading the 2008 acquisition and merger with Reuters. Independent of his family enterprise, he founded Osmington Incorporated, which manages commercial real estate, holds stakes in the Montreal Canadiens and Winnipeg Jets, and operates Toronto hedge fund Morgan Bay Capital. Thomson is also a major art collector, holding the world's largest private collection of works by John Constable and making landmark donations to the Art Gallery of Ontario.
