Scott Kenneth Homer Bessent is an American businessman and government official serving as the 79th United States Secretary of the Treasury. He previously served as Chief Investment Officer at Soros Fund Management and founded the macro investment firm Key Square Group. Bessent advised Donald Trump's 2024 presidential campaign on economic policy prior to his Cabinet appointment. He is the highest-ranking LGBTQ government official in United States history.
