Pete Hegseth is an American government official, veteran, and former media personality who became the 29th United States Secretary of Defense in 2025. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in politics from Princeton University in 2003 and served as an infantry officer in the Army National Guard, deploying to Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Before entering executive government, Hegseth led conservative advocacy groups such as Vets for Freedom and Concerned Veterans for America, and spent seven years co-hosting Fox & Friends Weekend.
