Neal Patterson (1949–2017) was an American technology executive and entrepreneur best known as the co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Cerner Corporation. Founded in 1979 alongside Arthur Andersen colleagues Cliff Illig and Paul Gorup, Cerner grew into a premier health IT provider powering electronic health record systems for thousands of healthcare facilities. Patterson was also a principal co-owner of Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City and an alumnus of Oklahoma State University.
