Klaus Schwab is a German economist, mechanical engineer, and academic best known for founding the World Economic Forum in 1971. Under his leadership for over 50 years, the forum developed into the leading global platform for public-private cooperation, hosting its flagship annual summit in Davos, Switzerland. He also served as a professor of business policy at the University of Geneva from 1972 to 2003 and co-founded the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship in 1998.
